Allen ISD introduced the Associate Degree Pathway in the 2020-2021 school year. This project was started in the fall of 2018 and is a partnership between Allen ISD, Collin College, and the University of North Texas (UNT).

The goals for the Associate Degree Pathway include providing an opportunity for Allen ISD students to earn a high school diploma and associate degree during their high school career and to create a seamless pathway for a student to enter their degree program at UNT as a junior. In addition, eligibility for scholarships was a priority for this program so that students could earn financial support to complete their bachelor's degree.

Current 8th and 9th grade students that are interested in the Associate Degree Pathway and their parents should attend the informational meeting in November. The program details, application process and timeline, and Collin College requirements for dual credit will be shared during the meeting.

Overview of Associate Degree Pathway

The pathway began in the 2020-2021 school year with the Class of 2024 and Class of 2023 students.

The partnership between AISD, Collin College and UNT will allow students who successfully complete the pathway to earn a high school diploma, an Associate of Arts Degree with a Business Field of Study, and enter UNT as a junior where they can complete their Bachelor's Degree. The degree pathways which are part of the partnership are within the G. Brint Ryan College of Business or The College of Merchandising, Hospitality, and Tourism.
